Over the next 5 days, I’d love to share some of my experience of turning your Seeking into Finding!

$𝟐𝟗𝟑,𝟔𝟑𝟕

This is the amount of money I have spent in personal development up until today in 2021.

I’ve travelled the world searching for the ‘answer’ and the ‘holy grail’ to my problems. I thought that there must be a ‘secret’ that will solve ALL of my pain, depression and other negative emotions and circumstances that happened to me and to create meaning in my life.

You may not have spent as much money as I have… or maybe you have spent even more!

Can you relate to that endless search of finding nothingness? Maybe you are watching endless YouTube videos. Or you’re listening full-time to audiobooks. Perhaps you’re also a seminar junkie as I am/was. And how about those endless Zoom meetings and webinars?!

What I learned is that searching for answers and meaning just got me more and more stuck. I started to use it as an excuse to postpone my achievements and fulfillments.

“No! I cannot start my own business yet, because I need to do another marketing course first.”

“No! I cannot get in shape yet, because I have to watch another video on nutrition and exercise.”

“No! I cannot find my soulmate yet, because I haven’t learned the 5 love languages yet.”

“No, I cannot live the life of my dreams yet, because Mercury is in retrograde and I have to wait till next year when Jupiter is in Virgo”

I hope you get my point.

You may ask: “Bart, so what should I do? Should I stop educating myself and just be ignorant?

That’s correct (the first part at least).

I want you to put everything down and stop taking in more information for the moment.

What I learned was that learning new stuff is simply not enough. It is only half of your journey at best.

The other half that you probably forget is the clearing and healing part.

Think about your life as a garden. Searching for answers and learning is like continuously planting new seeds and looking for places where there is more sun. And remember that saying: the grass is greener…

Without pulling out the weeds they will overgrow your beautiful garden of your life and keep you stuck. The personal growth industry doesn’t want you to know this. They will say things like: just be positive! Focus on the good! Be grateful!

And while all of that is great, you need to clear and heal your past and your pain as well. Without doing so all that positivity and greatness of yours will eventually be overturned by the weeds from your past.

It is time to truly start living a meaningful life and purpose on your terms, without anything that is stopping you or sabotaging you.
